ReeFlowers Potassium Blend is a high-density ionic potassium solution. Potassium Blend contains a minimum 100.000ppm of potassium in a 1 liter bottle.
Potassium is an important component of coral skeletal structures. Lack of potassium may cause discoloration and coral tissue loss. Potassium also plays an important part in regulating neurological functions and is consumed by most aquarium inhabitants. The solution also contains pigments that boost the purple and blue colors of some polyps.
The potassium concentration found in natural sea water is approximately 400 ppm. The value in the aquariums should be approximated to this value.
Instruction
Every aquarium has a different potassium consumption level. Before using the product determine the potassium concentration of the aquarium using an appropriate test kit. A maximum of 5ml of solution can be used for every 100 liters of aquarium water daily until the optimum level is achieved. 1ml of solution provides a 1ppm increase in 100 liters of water. Once the desired level is reached, optimum consumption can be determined by means of periodical tests. Solution can then be added daily or weekly as required. If a potassium test is not used, it is recommended that 2 ml of solution is added for every 100 liters of water on weekly basis (for an average loaded aquarium).
If not using a Potassium test, then it is recommended to use 2 ml per 100 lt on a weekly basis for an average-loaded tank. For long term use, no more than 4 ml should be used per 100 lt on a weekly basis.
